DuckTales: Scrooge’s Loot Gameplay

Starting the game you’ll be thrown into quite a lengthy tutorial with Launchpad guiding you to learning the ropes in the game. Much of the gameplay revolves around an online multiplayer atmosphere where you will be combating other players with your customized character.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of the game is to retrieve the looted gold then head back into your helicopter. You repeat this process until the timer runs out but you’ll have the enemy team trying to take you down throughout the entire process. And of course you will also have the ability to knock them out.

CONTROLS

Launchpad will take you through the controls but we’ll just discuss a bit about it to better understand how it works.

On the left section of the screen is where you move your character and on the right section of the screen are buttons for you to attack either physically or from afar using your weapon. You can swipe left and right, up and down on the screen to change views. That’s essentially the nuts and bolts of the controls for the game.

UPGRADES

In the game, you will find multiple upgrades where you can customize your character and even buy entirely new ones. You can use multiple weapons including melee and range and upgrade them throughout the game.

 CHARACTER CLASSES:

There are 4 character classes in the game,  Adventurer, Inventor, Chef, and Pilot! Each class has different advantages, so depending if you value strength, agility, or intellect, there’s a class for you!

DuckTales: Scrooge’s Loot Graphics

The graphics in DuckTales: Scrooge’s Loot is simply beautiful. You get a cartoon colored animation but in 3D. Much of the environment are in 3D and are designed very well to provide an immersive online gameplay.

DuckTales: Scrooge’s Loot Sounds

The soundtrack in the game is pretty fun to listen to especially when Launchpad is talking but that only happens once during the tutorial. Other than that some of the sound effects are goofy like when you get knocked out by the opponent or when they knock you out to align with the scenes. Or when you are throwing Ice Cream at your opponent.

DuckTales: Scrooge’s Loot Round-up

DuckTales is an extremely fun online game that gamers can enjoy. Its simple simple and non-violent gameplay makes it ideal for children of all ages and is even fun for adults that want a  challenge. Much of the gameplay revolves around the “Obtain Gold, bring it back to your Helicopter” routine.

Although the game revolves much around this theory, it does not get boring. You will always find yourself challenged by another player online that’ll test your build, character, and rank in the game. This isn’t about one player either, it’s a team effort. Each member of your team has the ability to collect gold and bring it back to your team’s base and they can either play defense or offense. If players do not help each other against the enemy team in battle then they risk the game all together. That’s what makes this game so interactive, challenging, and always refreshing to play.

Perhaps I missed something just as important. That’s the customization available in the game. One of the most captivating features of the game is the ability to customize and play as different duckies in the game. The current selections available for players to customize their character is so beautifully designed that each weapon, and character has their own unique design style, and you can see it when they’re equipped. The selection is not exactly huge at the moment but hopefully with updates it will develop into something where players can get more weapons and upgrades.

That’s it, that’s the review of DuckTales: Scrooge’s Loot, an absolutely fabulous for any player. You do need an active internet connection and register an account but it’s all worth the time.

Bottom line: A fun multiplayer online game for everyone.

Iron Force is an action/shooter game from Chillingo Games and Cool Fish games. Many gamers may find that Iron Force is similar to World of Tanks since it is a shooter that involves driving army tanks. It is rated 17+ for frequent/intense violence, mature/suggestive themes, frequent/intent cartoon violence and fantasy violence. It is a free download available for Apple devices but it requires a stable internet connection to play and much of the game relies on in-app purchases, which doesn’t really make the game free in the end.

Iron Force Gameplay

Iron Force has an objective that is similar to most shooting games on the market: to destroy and conquer. Players play in real-time with other players online in team death-matches or free-for-alls. Rewards for winning matches include currency which can be used to upgrade your tank in the main menu. There is not much of a tutorial in the game but the controls are simple to figure out.

CONTROLS

There is a virtual analog stick that players can use their left thumb with in order to move their tank about. The virtual button on the right side of the screen fires shots into their enemies. There are several different maps to choose from while playing. Each map gets unlocked via leveling-up. The actual gameplay itself may prove to be a little disappointing.

Players can also put decals and paint on their tanks and that will give them a power-boost but each paint-job only lasts for 12-hours. So then what is the point?

Iron Force Graphics

The graphics in Iron Force are pretty good and is based in a 3D realm where players can explore the area.. The maps are laid out well and would be fun to play on if the game didn’t lag so much. The tanks are detailed pretty clearly and the decals and paint jobs are fun to try on to the tank, even if players don’t choose to purchase them.

Iron Force Sounds

Players will mostly just notice the sound effects and attacks of other players in the game. There is a tune but nothing solely base on music because it’s not a musical game.

Iron Force Round-up

Overall, Iron Force is an okay game but unless players want to fork out money, wait around, or learn how to sculpt their patience, this game should probably be a miss. There are plenty of other games out there that will be much more action-packed and will not pressure players to pay anything.

While Iron Force is meant to be an action game, it’s kind of slow. The tanks move very slowly and although this wasn’t meant to be a fast-paced Twisted Metal game, sometimes the tanks move too slow. The connection is also pretty laggy and sometimes the game can even be interrupted, even if players are sitting right next to their internet connection.

Players looking at the free aspect will be disappointed with in-app purchases. Each battle takes up fuel and unless players want to wait out the time it takes to refuel automatically, they will have to buy more fuel with cash. In order to access more tanks, players will also have to buy diamonds in the game, which amount to about a dollar each.

Bottom line: Fun multi-player online game that’s really interactive.
