Batman: Arkham Origins Gameplay

Gameplay is extremely simple and plays very similar to Injustice: Gods Among Us (by the same developers), where they require you to do a series of swipes to battle enemies in a 1 on 1 battle arena. Of course, you’ll have to take down more than one enemy but they are all one at a time.

You do this by swiping, tapping, and using super moves. Where Batman will be using a series of punches and kicks to take down his enemy. This brawler game is very similar to classic fighting games where you just fight the opponent on the other end.

BATTLE MODES

There is two modes in total, Assault Stance and Guarded Stance. Like the name says, in Assault Stance you will have increased damage and your attacks are generally faster. On the other hand in Guarded Stance, you will receive less damage and your attacks are slower because you are taking caution to protect yourself from potential attacks.

ATTACKS

There is really just swipe, taps, and special moves. The special modes can be unlocked in the upgrades and all the costumes will use the same attacks.

COSTUMES

Multiple Batsuits can be found in the game and by unlocking them and purchasing them you will be able to upgrade your attacks and defense. Each suit has its own speciality, for example some suits may have resistant to poison or gun shots while others do not.

This allows players to use different suits to their advantage and strategically select the best suit for the best situation during battle.

Batman: Arkham Origins Graphics

Graphics are remarkably design to console level and you can see most of the details in Batman’s Batsuits that just makes the gameplay really immersive when battling on your mobile device.

Batman: Arkham Origins Sounds

Soundtracks are great in the game, and will remind most fans of the Batman series when listening to Alfred speak.

Batman: Arkham Origins Round-up

Overall, Batman: Arkham Origins mobile lives up to Batman fans expectations and it’s always fun playing as different Batman’s trying to take down his enemies. This brings us back to our initial discussion about the mixed reviews in the mobile stores. I think that most players would agree that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the game, while the biggest problem is that they have to wait for their stamina to recharge. At most some players would argue that you have to pay or play a lot to buy some of the Waynetech points only suits.

I am going to address both of these problems here. Batman: Arkham Origins is a free game which opens up the doors to almost every player on the planet with a mobile device, this is a good thing. In-app purchases are absolutely not required, the only thing that is required in the game is patience. Being a mobile focused player, we need to understand that mobile and console are different. You can play for at least 10-15 minutes non-stop on the device while stamina is regenerating which can make it even longer. That isn’t bad at all in mobile gaming considering other games are 1-3 minutes long.

There are suits that require Waynetech points only in the game, and it frustrates players, even me. However, the argument is you don’t need to buy it to beat the game. You can beat the entire game with suits you can buy from points you get in battle. Sure, we may want to obtain that specific suit but most certainly, it’s not required to beat the game and who knows, there may be discounts in the near future for suits you want.

Overall, this is the best Batman game for mobile device so far.

Bottom line:
