DragonVale has been updated to version 1.10.1 but it’s rather a minor update with bug fixes for players on iOS 4. The biggest announcement for this update is that iPod Touch 2nd players may no longer be supported after this update. That’s right iPod Touch 2nd users may have to update their device if they want to continue receiving exclusive dragons and continue with their DragonVale game.

iPod Touch 2nd users are promised that they can still play the game (with an internet connection), but future content like dragons, decorations, and other exclusive updates will probably not be streamed into their game. It appears the reason to this is because of the added support for iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5 which will conflict with the iPod Touch 2nd devices.

DragonVale has always been pushed beyond expectations to support multiple devices and even still has support for iPhone 3GS and even ran smoothly for iPod Touch 2nd gen devices but as player’s park grows, so does the usage of raw power. The discontinue of older devices was expected sooner or later to keep up with performance but the good news is you can still play without having to update and you can transfer your park at any time when you get a new device.

What’s New in Version 1.10.1

- Fixed a potential friends crash for iOS 4 users.
- Other bug fixes.
- This is the last update for 2nd Gen iPod Touches in order to add support for iPhone 5. The game will still be playable, but updates will not be seen moving forward.
