Fantasica is absolutely ground-breaking. I’m sure there are share of mobile users that love card games but while there are others that don’t.
One of the many reasons that stop a card game from those mobile users that may look past them is due to the lack of animations, story, gameplay, and for whatever reason. It’s kind of like Pokémon (Enter Version) vs Pokémon Trading Cards; the card version is always lacking something for players. Fantasica changes that.
If you enjoy defense games and RPGs then this game is definitely worth the try. For players that love card games then you should already have this in your library of mobile games! Fantasica is somewhat a clash between tradition RPG-style character designs with a card/defense style gameplay. What’s neater than seeing the characters in your card come to life?

Fantasica Gameplay
The gameplay for Fantasica is not as static as the screenshot may look. From the home screen, you have your casual menus at the bottom and information about your game onscreen. You get to look at what cards you have, deals, skills, trades and the basic standard menus but most of the gameplay will happen in Quest.
Quest is one of the places where you can use your cards to protect yourself from nasty monsters trying to pull through the defense line. What happens here is you select your cards (characters) and place them into the lines of battle. Once you have finished monsters will rush through the line and your characters will attack them (kind of like defense games).
If you win then great! If you don’t then…we’re not going to discuss that here. There are over 200+ cards to collect and battle through your game so there’s definitely a lot of content here for you to enjoy.
Fantasica Graphics
The graphics on this game is similar to traditional RPG style games. This can be seen on both the quests portion of the gameplay and the card artwork themselves.
If you want to know why then it’s because the person behind the artwork is none other than Hideo Minaba. One of the popular directors of the Final Fantasy series. He was also director for games like Blue Dragon (2006), Lost Odyssey, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (2003) then new artistic director of Final Fantasy XII (2006).
It’s no wonder it has a traditional RPG style feel to the graphics – in a good way.
Fantasica Sounds
There’s not much to discuss about the music in a card game but there are audio effects for the game.
Fantasica Round-up
Fantasica is definitely a great game for players that haven’t tried card style games on their mobile device. Its gameplay bridges the gap between defense and card making it much more enjoyable for any player, even the ones that haven’t tried card styled games.
Bottom line: Over 200 cards coupled with addictive gameplay, who cans say no to that?
