Mad Merx: Nemesis is a free app for mobile devices. Developed by Triniti Interactive Limited, Mad Merx: Nemesis is a 3D shooting/action game. You play as a third-person soldier in four different game modes. Mad Merx: Nemesis has the feel of a modern shooter such as Halo or Call of Duty that is designed to fit your mobile device. While the game is still in its first version and its concept is good, it can stand to be developed a little more. The controls, the graphics, and the online multiplayer concept can be a turn-off to hardcore gamers while those who aren’t huge gamers may find this game fun for a while.

Mad Merx: Nemesis Gameplay
In the game Mad Merx: Nemesis, the player takes on the role of a third-person solider. You can choose between different characters and weapons but you must first unlock them. The majority of the game is designed to be multiplayer so you will need a working internet connection unless you just stick to the offline free-for-all mode. In each stage you will pick your weapon and you will have ammo but if you use up all of your ammo you will have to buy more. The controls are not clearly explained and you will have to play around until you figure them out. Basically, you use one finger to move from side-to-side and you use your other finger to rotate and shoot. There is a standalone reload button. The controls can be confusing since the controls to rotate are also the controls that shoot your gun. However, when you are playing online multiplayer, the game lags and will tell you that you are running off a slow internet connection, even if you are right next to your modem. The game can also be unresponsive as when I went to quit the game, the screen froze and I couldn’t get back to the main page. There is no real storyline. The object of the game is to shoot other players and get more kills than deaths.
Mad Merx: Nemesis Graphics
The graphics in Mad Merx: Nemesis also score almost as blandly as the gameplay. While the graphics on the intro screen are sharp and appealing, the graphics in the game itself resemble those of the Sega Genesis era. The layout of the maps aren’t bad but any gamer can tell that this game was made to mimic modern-day console shooting games. The background music and effects are the only thing that make up for the poor graphics.
Mad Merx: Nemesis Sounds
Every sound you need in a shooter game is there!
Mad Merx: Nemesis Round-up
Overall, Mad Merx: Nemesis is a decent attempt a game but fails to pull through. The idea and the concept are good however the lag bug needs to be fixed and the graphics could be better. The controls should also be made more simple and explained better. Gamers who are used to high-quality shooters will be quickly disappointed but if you are not used to those types of games, give it a “shot” anyway. Even though Mad Merx: Nemesis has failed to make a lasting impression with its first version, keep your eyes out for any updates because this game has potential to become new and improved and more appealing.
Bottom line: If you’re a shooter fan this is one game you want for your library of games.
