July 22, 2013 UPDATE: You can now breed the Ruby Dragon using the Fire Dragon and the Gemstone Dragon.
To breed the Ruby Dragon, it is recommended you use the ___ and the __. The breeding time for this dragon is ___, so if you get a hours breeding time then you have a Ruby dragon breeding in your isle!

With the breeding combinations in hand, keep in mind that breeding is completely up to your luck in the game and for them to give you the dragon.
The Rarity will help you understand your chances but it will ultimately be up to your game.
The breeding order of left or right in the breeding den does not matter. The Level of your breeding dragon also do not matter.
Dragon Story: Ruby Dragon Evolution Guide
*Note Android players will need to use the temple at level 4!
The Dragon Story Ruby Dragon will have four forms. He will evolve into his second form at level 4. Once you have leveled him to level 6 you will need to use the evolution temple where you will need to further evolve him for the other evolution.
At level 9 you will evolve your creature into its most powerful and final form called Epic.
Egg – The egg is what is revealed to the players after they have completed the breeding process. You may place this egg into a Nest for hatching.
Baby – The baby form is hatched from the egg and is the youngest form of the entire evolution process.
Teen – Teen is the evolved form of your baby creature. You can evolve your dragon at level 4 without using the evolution chamber on Apple devices, while on Android you must use the evolution chamber. You will be able to breed after they have reached level 4.
Adult – The adult stage is a almost full grown dragon in Dragon Story. You can evolve your dragons at the end of level 6 where he will need to use the evolution chamber to become an adult.
Epic – The epic form is the final and most powerful form of them all. Embodied with powers of their representing elemental colors, the epic form is filled with great design and represents the full grown evolution of your dragon. You can evolve your Adult Dragon into Epic Dragon at level 9.

This and the emerald dragon are able to be formed in the spell shop as a part of the new line of updates that can be easily found and used in the original DragonStory app. You use the Portal to form gems that can be transformed into dragons and other items.
I don’t have a portal or spell shop in either the original dragon story or the new dawn version. Is this something not released for android yet, maybe?
On a side note, does anybody know if there’s a reason to play New Dawn over the original version? I was kind of assuming that New Dawn replaces the original and would be getting all the updates, but maybe I’m wrong there…

I think I have breed the ruby dragon, i used crusader dragon and fire dragon. The breeding time is 44 hours! I hope this is it!

I haven’t got the spell shop or the trading portal and TL said it was to be updated on Friday morning. Now I live in Australia n the time over there is today Saturday. I don’t know what’s going on but I can’t find the building anywhere so I can’t breed a gemstone dragon. Anyone please help!

You cannot i repeat CANNOT breed these dragons, craft only and to be honest i think the whole thing is ridiculous, to get one you must have 2 large rubies. To get 2 large rubies u need 20 small rubies. To get the small rubies you have to trade hybrid dragons? One per small ruby???!!!! Thats 20 of my hybrids just to get the rubies, not to mention the fact that you also need scrolls that are craft only and guess what you need to make them? Thats right more rubies. Basically u trade in all of your dragons for just two dragons! Thanks but no thanks, makes the whole game pointless

You can get large ruby and emerald for rares I got two for forest fire dragon
So this whole time I’ve been trying to breed a ruby dragon with Diamond+Fire about 50 times and still got no ruby dragon. BUT at least I didn’t do that all for nothing, I relieved a Crusader Dragon egg. This whole Gemstone idea is rubbish and should be removed as I’m not going to trade in 40 of my hybrid dragons for small rubies just to be crafted into 2 large rubies. Well that’s what I’ve heard anyways.

I have been doing it while trying to breed for other dragons, or I breed dragons raise the baby to level 4 and turn it in, it’s rather easy sometimes u can trade a dragon for its respective gems and a mystery, the mystery has given a large ruby an a large emerald and spell scrolls before. Add me: strokeseat for proof, it’s not that hard….

If your smart you trade a red-yellow hybrid or green-yellow hybrid to get the rubies n emeralds for the dragons and the yellow gems for scrolls…

mmm… Yall should read the information about the Ruby dragon on the market place, which says “Ruby Dragons were previously not able to be born in the human realm but were crafted from magical Gemstones…” Therefore, from my understanding, they can be acquired by breeding from red.

This dragon can be breaded, with the right combination of firestorm+fire dragon. Cause on android there is no spell shop and i got mine the usual way by breading(both level 10 dragons required)
