Godsrule: War of Mortals Gameplay

Godsrule: War of Mortals is a strategy battle game but features the classic village building aspect. However, the main focus of the game is on the battles. You will be spending most of your time on developing your village so you can produce more powerful units into your population to battle your enemies.

Building the Fortress

You will be able to build a number of buildings in the game that will generate everything you need to upgrade, and build other natural resources. For example, you can build buildings that generate food, mana, lumber, and iron.  Splinters on the other hand are obtained through battles and training in the Barracks and Temple or other battle areas.

Battles

The developers have dubbed these real-time battles with players around the world. There are actually two types of battles in the game, in-game battle and online battle.

In-Game Battles: It may seem the same but in game battles are battles against the computer when you choose to battle creatures in the Barracks or Temples. These battles will give you Splinters and appears to be computer driven.

Online Battles: These battles are part of the Battle Map and require the internet to connect to the battle field. You will face other players as opponents around the world in these battles and most of the time they’re more difficult.

Godsrule: War of Mortals Graphics

The graphics in the game aren’t exactly top notch but in a game like this, it doesn’t really have to be. It’s cartoonish design and tiny characters fit the bill for a mobile game like this. The zoom on the other hand could be better because you can’t really see your army that well and may look like moving bars with colors.

Godsrule: War of Mortals Sounds

The soundtracks are pretty calm, even in battle.

Godsrule: War of Mortals Round-up

While Godsrule: War of Mortals has a number of features for players, but it’s not for every gamer. It’s waiting time are exceptionally long, and the biggest problem being that you will only be able to build or upgrade one building at a time unless you use those orbs will really frustrate players.

Even if you purchase orbs in your game to fast forward those building times, 20 orbs at $1.99 is still a heavy price. Considering you need to exchange the orbs for speed up times and each “1 hour” is worth about 10 orbs. That’s a lot. You start the game with about 200 orbs given by the developers, so assuming that its worth is about the buying price then starting players’ gets about $20 for just playing the game, which is all that bad.

At any rate, the game is extremely slow. You’ll most likely use up those orbs given to you in a heartbeat and when you’ve used them all you’re stuck with having to purchase the orbs. One of the most annoying parts of this game is also the loading time. It’s extremely long and sometimes frustrating for players that just wants a quick game. On top of that, you need to login each time you start up your game!

Despite the problems, Godsrule: War of Mortals base gaming performance is quite addictive for village building players, especially if you like running your own clans and battling against other players. You just have to have the patience to wait out those building and production timers!

Bottom line: If you are a diehard fan of the village building genre and have a lot of patience then you should try this title out. For players that don’t like waiting, you might struggle with this one.
