Mini Ninjas from Square Enix is a fast pace action-runner game that is available in the market as a FREE to play game for download. The game features a ninja (Hiro) as the main playable character throughout the stages of the game, but you’ll also be able to get upgrades to various characters.
The game itself is a relatively easy to understand and we’ll see that throughout the review below. The graphics on the other hand are well designed (expected from Square Enix) and captures the imagination of being a ninja in an all-out runner game.

Mini Ninjas Gameplay
The gameplay of Mini Ninjas is extremely simple to grasp. If you’ve played games like Temple Run, Punch Quest, or other similar games then this game will be a walk in the park. If you haven’t then it’s not really that difficult to learn.
Controls in the game are extremely simple. You tap on the left side to jump and the right side to attack. Both of these buttons are invisible though so you must get a sense to where you are tapping to be able to get them to respond.
One of the coolest features of the game is the ability to free your ninja friends from cages then they will temporarily replace your current ninja for use. Each ninja you free has a different skill and plays very differently giving you a brand new experience when you play as them. However, these are temporarily and will disappear if you hit an object.
That being said, the gameplay is essentially like any endless runners where you try to stay afloat from hitting, or falling over anything and getting the best score possible.
Mini Ninjas Graphics
The great thing about Square Enix is generally they’re generally pushing the quality of their game’s graphics. It’s no different in this game because you’ll notice that this game definitely does not lack in visual presentation. It runs on a cartoony design but definitely not 2D and looks quite good on the iPad.
Mini Ninjas Sounds
The soundtracks in this game are well developed and will immerse you into the game as part of the ninja society!
Mini Ninjas Round-up
Mini Ninjas is a relatively easy game to take grasps of, beginning players will not be disappointed with how easy it is to play the game on their device. However, veteran players will probably not find anything overly exciting and new about the gameplay other than the graphics and it being a ninja style of game.
Throughout the game, you get to attack other evil ninjas or samurais and release your ninja friends from cages and harness their powers to push your game even further. The game is an endless-runner style of game which means you’ll never see an ending or have a final destination to reach. This also means you can pick up the game at any time and start playing and finish the game any time while on the go.
If you’re expecting something in the realm of the PS3 game of Mini Ninjas then you’ll probably be disappointed because this isn’t exactly the port of the game and you won’t be exploring places in the game.
Bottom line: Must have game for Mini Ninjas fans!
