The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was released yesterday and it was an amazing movie for all Spidey fans but how does The Official Amazing Spider-Man 2 game play? Well you get a number of different suits, and you get to swing around the city as if you were the real Spider-Man in New York city.

Spider-Man in this game needs to tackle a lot of Oscorp goons and you’re there to help him along the way and expect some familiar faces like Venom, The Goblin, Black Cat and more.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Gameplay

The app is an action game and plays like most action adventure games with an invisible analog stick on the left and three buttons on the right, which are punch, web, and counter attack. Much of the game will revolve around doing horribly designed quests that are basically the same thing, you either save someone here or sign some autograph book there but nothing is majorly different.

I like the parts where it goes directly to the “main quests” and you’re not forced to do the “added quests” which shows up too commonly in the game.

Swinging in the game is also a major issue because the analog stick just doesn’t work that well. It’s probably not easy to design a free-roaming game like this due to the limited control sequence available but Tapping to swing, swiping to turn the camera, then holding the stick to go in that direction is not that easy.

BATTLE

Battles in the game are fairly simple, you tap on either the punch button or the web button depending on what you want to do but remember when you see your spider-sense going off it’s time to hit the counter button.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Graphics

Perhaps the most outstanding portion of this game is it’s graphics. Gameloft games have often been known for their amazing graphics so thumbs up for that.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Sounds

I like how they used real voices for scenes without having the player reading long dialogues on a small screen so it’s perfect.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Round-up

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for mobile devices has some really good parts stuff packed into the game like amazing graphics and voiced scenes but unfortunately the game is not “workable” for every device. Some players are experiencing glitches and problems that should have been tested in “beta” before making it to the final version.

Perhaps the most painful part for most players is the difficulty of the game, after a certain length around the appearance of Venom, the enemies will become so difficult it’s impossible to win. I was hit 2 times with a full health bar and died. Some times I would get hit once and die immediately with them asking if I want to revive. And of course I don’t because it asks you to pay for the revive on top of you purchasing the game.

Aside from that everything else is acceptable and I love the story even though some quests are put in there purposely to extend the length of the game but the difficulty is just too much to bare for a $4.99 game. Don’t forget, if you want all the suits you’ll need to pay another $25.

Last Point: It requires an internet connection to play… on a game single player game.

Bottom line: This game reminds me of older Spider-Man games on the PS1 or PS2.
