PLAYMOBIL Pirates Gameplay
Gameloft is really pushing the Builder genre and has been adding tons of mini-games into its village building games. If you’ve played other Gameloft games, you’ll notice the “feel” of the games are very similar in terms of experience but their definitely not the same.
The gameplay of PLAYMOBIL Pirates is based on building your own pirate island and exploring the sea. On top of that, you do get into intensive mini-battles with sea creatures and other pirates in the game. If you are a veteran builder and have been intensively exploring all the builder games in the market then you’ll be surprised by PLAYMOBIL Pirates on the first go.
Building Aspect
Your focus for this game is not to only build on the given land but also in the sea. You can expand in the sea just as if it is land and build on it. The buildings are separated into four types, and they are: Houses, Workshops, Fortress, and Decorations.
Houses – They are general buildings that help you earn income
Workshops -
Fortress – Used to protect your island/ships from attacks
Decoration – Used to decorate your island.
Battles/Exploration/Ship & Worker collecting
Battles – You’ll get to battle enemies like skeletons that tries to damage your ship or other pirate and nasty creatures of the sea.
Exploration – You’ll also do a bit of exploring in the sea playing thisgame.
Ship & Workers – For most veteran players this is probably the juice of the game because you get to collect cool and unique ships and Lego workers.
PLAYMOBIL Pirates Graphics
If you’ve played Gameloft games then you won’t be disappointed with the graphics. The characters and environments are mostly in 3D and have bright vibrant colors to capture the imagination. While you are on the island, the graphics may not shine as much as it does in the sea but if you zoom into your island, you’ll know the graphics aren’t flat.
The graphics on the island however aren’t as “sharp” as the ones in the sea and you’ll also notice that your Lego characters are sharper than the island you’re on. It’s probably the shines on the Lego characters that make them so good and you’ll wonder why the island isn’t like that.
PLAYMOBIL Pirates Sounds
The sound effects in the game are all well-chosen like other builder games from the same developers. The soundtrack will bring a sense of curiosity for you to explore more of the game.
PLAYMOBIL Pirates Round-up
When we first began the game we experienced a problem launching the game. Either the server was down or something just kept it saying loading without actually loading anything. It was just a minor bug and was fixed the next day.
PLAYMOBIL Pirates is a pretty well developed game like every other builder game from Gameloft, and it does surprise most players the first time around with really cool features. However, most of the things you do can become repetitive and with the limitations like homes for workers can be terribly annoying.
That being said, it is still an enjoyable game that packs quite a bit of features that other games have been lacking. Two of the main things that we found really enjoyable are the battles (sometimes), and knowing we can get cool ships in the game. They really need to make some “coins” ships though because players don’t like knowing that they will be stuck with the same ship unless they buy gems with real money.
All in all, PLAYMOBIL Pirates is a good builder game to have in your library of apps. Their cool Lego designed characters and ships have made it one of my favorite games. Though the battles are long but if you have the time to do them it’s definitely worth it.
Bottom line: Ho Ho Pirate lovers this is a must have game!

Very annoying being constantly told I need to buy fortresses to defend my ships but having bought some the game won’t let me place them anywhere useful. Not impressed.
I installed this game, got to level 13 and then a ‘bug’ hid my islands with clouds again. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it losing all my progress in doing so, I’ve now reached level 13 again and my islands have disappeared again! Don’t waste your time on this app!!!
same here.. i keep on losing my island. I’ve been uninstalling and reinstalling the game but it still gives me the same problem. I’m using ipod touch 4th gen.. can anyone help us! i don’t wanna remove the game yet because i am hoping the someone here can help us…
There is a flaw in this app and they know all about it…..

Unfortunately, I can not provide you with information when our future update will be release.
We can not operate such information as it usually depends not only on us but a lot of other
third party companies.
